Cultural Historian and Creative Strategist

Technology + Culture = Strategy

My approach to creative strategy and innovation is informed by a deep understanding of the impact of technological change and recent events on visual culture and evolving audience expectations. I have consulted internationally for clients in entertainment, tech, luxury, fashion, FMCG and transport for 20 years, applying models from media studies, semiotics and cultural theory to solve complex communications design challenges. I grew up in Marin County, California and work between Europe and the US.

Cultural Strategy

I design, conduct and oversee international studies for clients requiring cultural insight and trends research for brand development, new product innovation, experience design and multinational brand identity projects.

Content Innovation

Tracking and mapping evolving media aesthetics and storytelling developments over time helps clients optimize storytelling approaches and identify strategic routes for content innovation, production investment and editorial strategy.

Methodology Innovation

Working internationally across a wide spectrum of creative environments and sectors makes me a valuable collaborator within large and small agencies in media, design, innovation and brand consultancy that need to evolve their internal insight-gathering practices.

Teaching & Training

I train professional strategists and designers internationally in areas of cultural branding, innovation, digital storytelling, and mass communications. Most recently, I have taught Masters and Bachelors level courses in Luxury Brand Management, Art Direction, Communications and Brand Design at Domus Academy and Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti.
